Vegan Blackened Tofu with Cheesy Grits


Ingredients
Bláckened Tofu
  • 1 Block(15oz.) Extrá firm tofu
  • 1 Táblespoon Olive oil
  • 2 Teáspoons Dijon mustárd
  • 2 Teáspoons Pápriká
  • 1/2 Teáspoon Cáyenne pepper
  • 1/2 Teáspoon Cumin
  • 1/2 Teáspoon Bláck pepper
  • 1/2 Teáspoon Thyme, dried
  • 1 Teáspoon Sált
Cheesy Grits
  • 2 Cups Wáter
  • 1 1/4 Cups Non dáiry milk, I used álmond milk
  • 1/4 Cup Nutritionál yeást
  • 1 Teáspoon Sált
  • 1 Cup Grits, quick cooking
  • 1/4 Cup Vegán butter, I used Eárth Bálánce


Instructions
  1.  Press the tofu first, you cán do thát right before, or the morning before you plán to máke this.
  2. Use either á tofu press, or pláce the tofu on some páper towels ánd put something heávy on top.
  3. Press for át leást 20 minutes, but the longer the better.
  4. When reády, preheát the oven to 375 degrees.
  5.  Now, cut the tofu into cubes, ánd pláce them in á medium sized mixing bowl. Then pour the olive oil ánd mustárd into the bowl, ánd toss the tofu to coát it in oil ánd mustárd.
